Craft Sets are great for development in all areas!
Articulation/Speech: Choose target sounds to make words and embed in play. For example, /k/; cut, color, craft, crayon
Language: Use descriptive words to talk about how the colors, sizes, and shapes. You can request more pieces. You can use them to target spatial concepts /on, off, under, on top/.
Pragmatics: You can take turns putting pieces on. You can pretend play with various things you make.
Fine Motor/Visual Motor: You can enhance find motor skills by taking stickers off and putting them on. You can work on crayon grip. You can work on visual motor skills by placing the stickers on certain items.
Sensory: You can use glue to enhance the sensory system. You could use finger paint. You can also keep the pieces out of the bin in a tub of rice that they can dig for.
Gross Motor: You can make obstacle course for pieces. Have the child bend and pick pieces up to use them. You can have the child reach across mid line to get more pieces.
