Lead Speech Language Pathologist
I moved to Charleston from Texas. I am originally from a small town in west Texas called Sonora. I earned my undergraduate degree in Communication Science and Disorders from The University of Texas at Austin. Hook ’em! I moved to Texarkana, Texas for a year and worked as a speech language pathologist assistant. I received my Master’s degree in Communication Science and Disorders from the University of Central Arkansas in Conway, Arkansas.
I am a member of the American Speech-Language Hearing Association (ASHA) and have experience in both the clinic and hospital settings. I have an interest working with children with feeding/swallowing disorders, oral motor disorders, apraxia of speech, and a variety of communication disorders. I have participated in Melanie Potock’s online Feeding Development: Understanding the Spectrum of Eating in Children course, as well as, a Picky Eater vs. Problem Feeders online course by PESI. I attended ASHA convention in 2019 where I focused on courses related to tethered oral tissues, understanding pediatric anxiety & feeding disorders, and multidisciplinary approaches to pediatric feeding disorders.
In my free time, I enjoy hiking, shopping, reading, traveling, and exploring new brunch places! I also enjoy watching the Texas Longhorns and Houston Astros!
