Speech Language Pathologist
Emmie is a licensed Speech Language Pathologist who received her Bachelor of Arts in Experimental Psychology and Master of Speech Pathology from the University of South Carolina. She is a certified member of the American Speech Language and Hearing Association (ASHA) and is certified by the South Carolina Board of Examiners in Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology. Emmie recently moved to Charleston, SC after working in a multidisciplinary pediatric private practice setting in Raleigh, NC.
Throughout her career, Emmie has had the opportunity to gain experience in a variety of settings, which has given her the ability to evaluate and treat both adults and children with a variety of communication disorders. It is through these experiences that Emmie fell in love with treating the pediatric population, including children with autism spectrum disorder, Down syndrome, cerebral palsy, childhood apraxia of speech and other articulation/phonological disorders, receptive and expressive language delays and social communication language disorders. Emmie also really enjoys early language intervention and feeding therapy. This passion has led her to further her education so that she can best serve her patients using evidence-based practice, including becoming PROMPT trained and attending the Feeding Matters International Pediatric Feeding Disorders Conference annually. Emmie enjoys each day working with the pediatric population and is passionate about giving every child the gift of communication.
In her free time, Emmie enjoys exploring restaurants with her husband, Matt. She also enjoys taking her dog, Folly, on walks, watching Christmas movies and cheering on the Gamecocks.
