Speech Language Pathologist
Keri earned a Bachelor of Social Work from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington and a Master of Communication Disorders from the University of South Carolina. She is a certified member of the American Speech-Language-Hearing-Association (ASHA). Keri has completed Krisi Bracket’s CAN EAT course, which provides a medical, motor, behavioral approach to pediatric feeding disorders. Prior to serving as a Speech Language Pathologist, Keri worked with the special needs community for 12 years as an Early Interventionist and Service Coordinator. Keri’s clinical experience with preschool and school aged children includes working with language disorders, speech sound disorders (articulation and phonological), auditory processing disorders, Childhood Apraxia of Speech, and feeding disorders. Keri enjoys partnering with families to help their child reach his/her fullest potential.
Keri is a PROMPT-Trained Speech Language Pathologist and has completed the Introduction to PROMPT Technique Workshop. The PROMPT technique involves using a tactile-kinesthetic approach that includes touch cues to a patient’s articulators (jaw, tongue, lips) to manually guide them through a targeted word, phrase or sentence.
Keri and her husband, Kenny, have two daughters. In her free time, she enjoys spending time outdoors with her family, live music, and reading.
