Speech Language Pathologist
Payton moved to Charleston form Houston, Texas where she was born and raised. She earned her undergraduate degree in Communication Disorders from Texas State University in San Marcos, Texas, and her master’s degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders from the University of Central Arkansas in Conway, Arkansas. Payton had the opportunity to live in both Denver, Colorado and Austin, Texas while completing her clinical rotations in grad school.
Payton is a member of the American Speech-Language Hearing Association (ASHA) and is certified by both the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation and South Carolina Board of Examiners in Speech Language Pathology and Audiology. Payton has experience in both the skilled nursing and school setting. She has an interest working with children with augmentative and alternative communication (AAC), expressive/receptive language disorders, articulation/phonological disorders and pragmatic language disorders. She loves the field of speech therapy and enjoys working with children and their families to help improve their child’s communication skills.
In her free time, Payton enjoys shopping, traveling, spending time with family and friends, and exploring new restaurants. She is also a huge sports fan and cheers for all her favorite Texas teams, the Texas Longhorns, the Texans, the Rockets and the Astros!
