Occupational Therapist
Adie Bjerkness, OTR/L
Adie graduated with her Bachelor of Science in Biology at Lenoir-Rhyne University in Hickory, NC and stayed there to complete her Master of Science in Occupational Therapy.
During her clinical experiences, Adie gained experience working in an outpatient pediatric setting where she treated children with a variety of pediatric diagnoses primarily through a sensory integrative lens. She has always been interested in working in pediatrics having two younger brothers who receive special services. Adie also gained experience during college through volunteering at local summer camps for children with disabilities and being a research volunteer for East Carolina University’s HABIT (Hand Arm Bimanual Intensive Therapy) Clinical Trial for children with cerebral palsy. Adie is passionate about “therapeutically playing” to help children reach their goals and developmental milestones to function at their highest level in their environments.
In her spare time, Adie is an avid runner and loves spending time outdoors at state and national parks, visiting local coffee shops, or being with her friends and family.
