The Chunky Wooden Puzzle is great for development in all areas!
Articulation/Speech: Have your child imitate sounds or animal noises for pictured puzzle pieces.
Language: Develop language skills by requesting, labeling, actions, descriptive concepts, colors, shapes, counting, word imitations, and turn-taking.
Fine Motor/Visual Motor: Matching, motor planning, developing grasp by picking up the knob, eye hand coordination, and crossing midline will reinforce fine and visual motor skills.
Sensory: Place puzzle pieces in a dry sensory bin (rice, beans, sand) and have your child retrieve each piece.
Gross Motor: Have child stand and squat to place pieces into puzzle, retrieve pieces across the room to work on walking, hopping, and jumping. Place puzzle pieces within an obstacle course to add a fun activity to the puzzle. Have your child work on crawling by placing pieces and puzzle on opposite ends of a tunnel.
