A pediatric Physical Therapist specializes in gait analysis to determine possible areas of concern that may be contributing to pain, asymmetries or difficulty with acquiring typical gross motor skills or playing sports. Pediatric Physical Therapists also assess orthotic needs that may be needed due to arm/leg asymmetries, weaknesses or postural deviations found during a gait analysis. A pediatric Physical Therapist works closely with local Orthotists to determine the best orthotic needed for the child. These may include a simple arch support to a full lower extremity bracing system.
