Occupational Therapist
Katie is passionate about helping children thrive through play-based occupational therapy. Her journey began with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Georgia, where she also minored in Human Development and Family Sciences and earned a Disability Studies Certificate. She then pursued her Doctorate of Occupational Therapy at the Washington University in St. Louis, School of Medicine.
During her fieldwork and capstone experiences, Katie gained valuable insights across diverse settings, including acute care, general outpatient, and pediatric outpatient. Her capstone experience deepened her understanding of sensory integration and the role OT plays in supporting children who have experienced trauma or attachment disorders. This experience also ignited her passion to continue learning and better support the children and families she serves. Katie believes in the power of play to make therapy engaging and fun, and she loves the creative problem-solving that comes with helping children reach their goals. Katie finds seeing children making progress in therapy incredibly rewarding and her passion for OT grows as each child she works with meets their goals.
Outside of the clinic, Katie enjoys going to the beach, riding her bike, exploring new restaurants, baking sweet treats, and spending quality time with her family and friends.
