Play Instruments are great for development in all areas!
Musical instruments are great for increasing your child’s joint attention skills, pretend play, fine motor grasp, and sensory processing. Infants can turn from side to side to attend to the noise to increase trunk strength and head/neck control. Instruments can be picked up by reaching across the body to work on crossing mid-line. Use two instruments together or beat on a drunk for bilateral coordination skills! Learn new vocabulary by naming the toys, and actions such as ‘shake, bang, and play’.
