Speech Language Pathologist
Ellender grew up in Nashville, TN, and moved to Charleston in August 2023 to begin her SLP career! She received a Bachelor of Science degree in Audiology and Speech Pathology from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, and received her Master of Science Degree in Speech and Hearing Science from Tennessee State University. Ellender was also in Vanderbilt University’s Childhood Hearing Loss Specialty Track with graduate students in the fields of speech-language pathology, audiology, and deaf education, specializing in hearing loss.
Ellender has clinical experience in the school, skilled nursing facility, and outpatient pediatric settings working with individuals with a variety of communication disorders and disabilities. She has worked with children with articulation/phonological disorders, expressive/receptive language disorders, hearing loss, Autism Spectrum Disorders, Augmentative and Alternative Communication modalities, and other developmental delays.
In her free time, she loves going to the beach (one of the main reasons that she was attracted to CHS!), going out to eat with friends, reading, going on walks, and traveling as much as she can! Ellender is thrilled to begin her career at Tri-County Therapy and become a part of the team!
